Since debuting in 2001, the SCREAM Tour has proven to be among the most successful concert series in the nation. SCREAM alumni includes; Bow Wow, Omarion, Chris Brown, Yung Joc, B5 & Ne-Yo,. Most recently, SCREAMFEST 07, starring T.I. and Ciara, thrilled sold out crowds in 20 markets during the summer of 2007 and featured special guests such as Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Diddy, R. Kelly, Nelly & Common.

Company Uses Artists to Call Listeners

Fans of No Limit Records releases from the late '90s might remember Master P's numerous 1-900 numbers to get information on Snoop Dogg, Fiend and the rest of the gang. Now, you no longer have to pay toll charges, because from 50 Cent to Soulja Boy to Yung Joc, your favorite rappers are calling you.

Say Now, started by CEO Nikyl Singhal and VP Brian Mandler, is a service that has the Hip Hop industry, among other genres, buzzing with its marketability and interactive approach to staying up on your favorite artists.

"What we found, when we started the company, was with digital services, whether Myspace pages, email lists or text messaging groups, that fans are looking for a closer, more personal way of connecting with their favorite artists," Singal told HipHopDX. "Artists are also looking for a closer way to engage the fans and connect with them, personally. Our service is a phone number that we give to [artists] that they can present to their audience to build a phone-based communication. Voice is the core piece of our product."

Yung Joc, for instance, recently asked his fans to call and leave a message answering the question, "Why are you a G?"

It Went Down

Hip-hop artist Yung Joc's concert caught a bad rap Saturday night after the show was canceled following an alleged fight and a string of eight arrests.

Campus police said they canceled the concert - scheduled from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Garrett Conference Center - at about 12:30 a.m., after a fight broke out inside the ballroom.

But the show's promotions director, Brandon Forrest, said no fight actually took place, and that police made it impossible for Joc to perform on time.

P. Diddy wraps up the weekend

Party goers wrapped up the star-studded Super Bowl weekend at P. Diddy's Bad Boy Showcase Party in Glendale.

The estimated 1,500-crowd inside Glendale Civic Center jammed to Yung Joc, Mario Winans, Cheri Dennis and Square Off - all artists belonging to Diddy's music label....
